BOOK 4 IN THE SERIES COMING SOON!!
Love is the key spice in the recipe of life.
Max Harder long suspected that his ex-girlfriend, Callie, had broken up with him because of another man—her best friend, Tom. In an effort to understand Callie better, Max befriends Tom, and a new friendship is forged. Max sets in motion their plan to show Callie she doesn’t have to choose between them, and that her wildest dreams can come true.
But when Max’s pet capuchin monkey falls ill, their love-lives get turned upside down by more than sex toys and wild fantasies. The pair discovers that family comes in all shapes and sizes, and love is the key spice in the recipe of life.
Candlelight flickered from the living room, causing shadows to dance over the walls. The scent of vanilla wafted toward her. An assortment of brightly colored carnations—her favorite flower—were displayed in a vase on an end table. Strawberries and cream in a serving bowl sat on the coffee table. This had all the markings of a romantic seduction. Not what she’d had in mind when he’d called.
The scene before her confused her fragile ego. On the one hand, she was touched he’d gone to so much trouble to remember her favorite things. On the other, she didn’t feel a booty call was worth this much effort.
The urge to run away overrode all other feelings. She whipped around only to bump smack dab into his big wall of a body. He caught her elbows when she stumbled, and he steadied her.
“I know what this looks like,” he said, as if reading her mind. “I’m not trying to seduce you, Callie. I wanted to set up some of your favorite things so you’d feel comfortable, so you could relax while we talked.” He stepped closer to her until his lips were tracing the shell of her ear. “Don’t get me wrong—I’d love to sink my cock into your juicy, wet cunt.” She shivered at his words, and she felt him smile against her ear. “I see you like that thought too. I haven’t forgotten how much you like me talking dirty in your ear.” Max held her at arm’s length. “But we need to talk first.”
Callie swallowed hard. “I want you both. I need you both in my life.”
Tom chuckled. “We are so glad to hear you say that.” He slung an arm around her shoulder, and hugged her to him.
Callie slumped into him, and yawned. Max grinned at her, and chucked her on the chin. “Why don’t we get some sleep?”
Her eyebrows scrunched together. “Together?”
Max shrugged. “Why not? I’ve got a king-sized bed, and I think we both want to hold you.” He stood and offered his hand. Tom pushed himself off the couch and held out a hand too. “What do you say?” Max asked.
Callie grinned from ear to ear and took each of their hands. “I’d like that.”
Max’s heart pumped a happy rhythm in his chest as they pulled her to her feet. As he led the way to his bedroom, he remarked, “You know my sister is in a committed threesome, and they’re happy. I’m sure we can make this work.”
“Yeah,” Callie said, “but I thought the three of them were in to each other. I don’t really see you two being…in to each other.”
Tom laughed. “Can’t say as I want to fuck you, bro.”
Max snorted. “Same here.”
Callie stopped short, holding up their love train. “Then why are we doing this?”
Max shook his head, and pulled her into his room. “This isn’t about Tom and me wanting a sexual relationship with each other. It’s about us wanting an intimate relationship with you. It means we share you. And we don’t have to be sexually attracted to each other to have a bond with you, or for us to love each other as friends.”
“Yeah.” Tom scooped her into his arms, and she shrieked. He carried her over to the bed and tossed her onto the mattress. “Max is a great friend, and I can see why you love him so much. When I got over my jealousy, I realized he and I could be good friends too. And if it means I don’t have to lose you, it’s a win-win all around.”
